Hi and welcome to the Online Masterclass of Socially Engaged Theatre. I am Husam Abed, a theatre maker musician and a pedagogue with experience in theatre for social change since 2007. A multi-awarded original art concept for my theatre performance Smooth Life. In the last years, I delivered workshops for children, youth and adults in Europe, Hong Kong, Macao and Arab World. My ambition is to spread theatre tools for self-expression, communication and to connect people through theatre. In this masterclass you will get a glimpse about: meditation, concentration, self-knowing through theatre games, work with materials and objects, the hand, body expression and voice work, work with personal memories, theatre for social change: examples from previous workshops, create a short film using puppet theatre in your context.
